Rebecca Hanus joined the Office of General Counsel in 2022 and serves as Associate General Counsel for the University. She provides guidance to units across the university on a wide range of transactional and policy matters, with a particular focus on philanthropy, partnerships, procurement, contracts, and compliance.

Rebecca serves as principal legal counsel for two of the University’s direct support organizations, the UCF Foundation and UCF Finance Corporation. 

Prior to joining UCF, Rebecca served as legal counsel at Clemson University.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was an executive editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. She is a member of the South Carolina (inactive) and Florida bars.
