Robert Wilson
Senior Associate General Counsel, Office of Research
Robert W. Wilson is a Senior Associate General Counsel supporting UCF’s Office of Research. Robert provides strategic advice to UCF on business and corporate matters, including complex contract reviews and negotiations, intellectual property issues, clinical trial agreements, joint ventures, export control compliance, data privacy, and other research compliance and initiatives. He also serves as primary counsel to UCF’s Institutional Review Boards providing legal counsel on matters related to human subjects’ research and to UCF’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
Serving as the primary legal counsel to the University of Central Florida Research Foundation, a UCF direct support organization, Robert provides legal and business advice regarding corporate governance, technology ventures and strategic investments, tax matters, and research compliance.
Prior to joining UCF in 2014, Robert practiced in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities and tax law for firms in Florida, Georgia, and Texas.
Robert earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Florida, a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Florida, a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida. He is admitted to the State Bars of Florida, Georgia, and Texas. In addition, he is a licensed (inactive) Certified Public Accountant in Florida.
Robert and his wife, April, are native Floridians and have been married for over 20 years. They enjoy spending time with each other and their three children. When not busy attending swim meets, water polo, basketball or cheerleading activities, they enjoy exploring new restaurants in the Orlando area.
